VILLALVAZO CLERICAL SERVICES
Villalvazo Clerical Services is a business that offers taxes to everyone. Since doing taxes can often be a stressful time for people, I tried to incorporate certain things within the visual design which would be appealing to the common crowd. In choosing a color palette I went with a dark blue because I wanted people to get a sense of calmness when looking at the design. I then decided to go with a yellow-orange. This would symbolize the warm and welcoming aspect of the company.
When designing a logo I decided to go with something abstract and simple. I think the visual look of the logo it would give off a professional appearance compared with local competition. When choosing a slogan I picked the qualities which were most important to your business.
For the typefaces in the logo, I went with Gidole and Shree Devanagari 714. I feel like these fonts work well together giving the logo a simple yet elegant look. My goal was to be sure that the visual identity of your business looked professional and elegant. I also wanted to be sure that the look of your business was simple and attractive for people who decide to choose you for tax preparation.
BIOGRAPHY

Jasmine Torres is a Graphic Designer born in Stockton, California. As a child, she was always creative. It started with her passion for drawing cartoons and people. She would spend hours trying to get the perfect sketch. She thought she would end up becoming a Studio Artist but her inspiration to become a Graphic Designer would start in High School. She took a class her senior year and just became mesmerized with the Adobe programs and the idea of design. She was interested in trying something new that would help her express herself creatively. In 2019, she graduated from San Joaquin Delta College with her AA in Graphic Arts. During her two years at Delta, she was able to get more acquainted with the main Adobe Programs like Illustrator and Indesign. This helped her when she transferred to a four-year college. She hopes that she will be able to get the experience she needs from her education.
Artist statement
Graphic Design is enjoyable because it gives me a chance to express my creative side. My design style is minimalistic, so I rely on Adobe Illustrator and Indesign. These programs help me achieve the look I want for my work. When approaching my designs, the goal is to be able to keep working until I'm satisfied. My design “Flashlight Exploded” is a project where I had to keep manipulating the gradient mesh tool to get the look I wanted. It took a lot of patience to be able to make sure the colors and the highlights were exact. The main thing to always keep in mind is the target audience. My project “Stem Organic Visual Identity” is an example of one of my research-based designs. I had to be sure that my target audience would respond to the design decisions I made whether it be the color, style, or font. Recently I have started creating Website designs. Taking on a new platform is difficult but it’s all about being patient and knowing your end goal. Even now I am continuing to learn new things. I hope to strengthen my design skills to become an even better designer than I am now.
